Face2Face Improv Mission Statement

“Many people have the idea that to improvise you have to get up on a stage and ‘make it up.’ it could also be said that the bulk of driving is pointing the car, so let’s allow five-year-olds to do it. Bad idea. — Jeff Catanese, Improv Review

Face2Face Improv, the first and only professional improvisation troupe in North Alabama, performs long form improv, similar in style to Second City or iO. Loosely based on the aptly-named “Harold” method, F2F takes an audience suggestion and performs an hour long play with multiple characters entering and exiting the story. These plays are performed simultaneously as a debut and finale. No show is ever the same!

Face2Face Improv, the only professional improvisational troupe in North Alabama, specializes in short form improv, in the style of iO or Second City. Based on an audience suggestion, typically but not necessarily one word, F2F weaves multiple, suggestion-inspired story lines together in an entertaining and inspiring one-act play.
